Fire Rescue Station No. 1 was constructed at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks CT.
The design and materials used were in strict compliance with CT DOT specifications and the
unique requirements of fire fighting and rescue at a major airport.
The facility is 20,000 sq, ft. comprising (3) drive-thru high-bays for apparatus, and two stories containing equipment support, offices, training, and living facilities.
The structure is supported by a structural steel frame, and enclosed by a concrete block exterior.
The roof is an EPDM membrane. In addition to all the equipment routinely required for fire
stations, this facility provides a 10,000 gallon water reservoir and pump for rapid recharging of trucks. A full foam fire-fighting system is also provided.
